What Is HRD Corp?

The Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) is a dedicated government agency operating under Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources. Its primary mission is to catalyze the development of the nation’s workforce.

HRD Corp manages a mandatory levy fund contributed by Malaysian employers. These funds are pooled to provide financial assistance for employee upskilling and retraining initiatives. If your business is registered and contributes to this fund, you are eligible to recover training costs by enrolling your staff in HRD Corp claimable programs. 

Understanding HRD Corp Claimable Courses

An HRD Corp claimable course is a professional training program that has undergone a rigorous approval process by HRD Corp. These courses are designed to ensure that the training provided meets high industry standards and offers genuine value to the Malaysian economy.

HRD Corp provides financial assistance to help employers retain and upskill their workforce.
Claims are subject to the Allowable Cost Matrix and relevant circulars.

What You Can Claim

Employers may apply for funding to conduct in-house or public training for a minimum duration of four (4) hours, subject to programme approval.
*Additional supporting documents may be requested by HRD Corp for verification and confirmation purposes.

Application Process

Follow the three-step process below to submit your application and claim under HRD Corp Claimable Courses.

Application via e-TRiS

Submit your training details for pre-approval.

Documents required:

  • Quotation / Invoice from training provider
  • Training schedule or course content
  • Trainer profile

Approval

HRD Corp reviews the application and issues approval, subject to compliance with guidelines.
Training should commence only after approval is granted in the e-TRiS system.

Claim Submission

Documents Required :

  • Itinerary (airfare) – if any
  • Receipt & Invoice (transportation) – if any

Requirements

The employer does not require paying the training fees to the training provider to reduce the employer’s burden
Effective 1st August 2019, training programmes must commence within six (6) months from the date of training grant applications are made and training claim submissions must be made not more than six (6) months from the date the training programmes are completed.
