Google Sheets Productivity : From Fundamentals To Intermediate Data Analysis

Program Overview

The Google Sheets Productivity: From Fundamentals to Intermediate Data Analysis programme was successfully conducted on 5–6 February at De Palma Hotel Shah Alam, facilitated by trainer Shabenah Bee, bringing together professionals who rely on data for daily operational and reporting tasks.

This two-day hands-on programme was designed to strengthen practical Google Sheets skills from foundational spreadsheet usage to intermediate-level data analysis and automation features. The training focused on enabling participants to manage, analyse, and present data more efficiently in real workplace scenarios.

Participants worked with realistic datasets and practical exercises to build structured spreadsheets, apply formulas, and streamline reporting processes. Emphasis was placed on productivity shortcuts, error control, and collaborative workflows aligned with modern workplace demands.

The programme moved beyond theory, focusing on real application so participants could immediately implement what they learned in their roles.

Delivered in an interactive, hands-on environment, the programme ensured participants practised each concept through guided exercises and real-world scenarios. 

Day 1 focused on building strong foundations. Participants learned interface navigation, formatting techniques, and productivity shortcuts. They explored core formulas, logical functions such as IF, and data validation methods to minimise errors. Data cleanup techniques including sorting, filtering, and text normalization helped participants improve data accuracy and consistency.

Day 2 advanced into intermediate analysis and collaboration. Participants developed confidence using lookup and reference functions, text and date formulas for operational data, and conditional formatting to surface insights. They also learned how to create and format Pivot Tables for summary reporting. The programme concluded with collaboration and automation features, including sharing permissions, version history, Smart Fill, and sheet protection.

The learning experience was practical, structured, and immediately applicable to workplace needs. Participants left the programme with stronger technical confidence, clearer data-handling practices, and tools to improve reporting efficiency
