Step Up To The Next Level : Building Leaders For Growth
Program Overview
The Step Up to the Next Level: Building Leaders for Growth programme was successfully held on 7–8 April 2026 at the MBSA Convention Centre, specifically designed for supervisors, team leaders, and high-potential managers. This two-day intensive workshop served as a critical transition point, helping operational leaders move beyond daily task management and step into the mindset of true leadership.
The training focused on the shift from “doing the work” to “leading the work.” Participants were challenged to think beyond their immediate operations and understand how their decisions no matter how small impact the company’s overall profit and expansion. By bridging the gap between operational discipline and strategic ownership, the programme prepared these leaders to support the organization’s next phase of growth with confidence and authority.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Differentiate clearly between managing daily tasks and leading people toward a vision.
- Adopt a growth-focused mindset to make decisions that have a long-term impact.
- Protect company profit by understanding how operational discipline and accuracy affect the bottom line.
- Demonstrate stronger ownership, moving from waiting for instructions to taking initiative.
- Communicate with authority, holding team members accountable while maintaining respect.
- Lead through uncertainty, supporting their teams calmly during organizational transitions.
- Develop a personal growth plan to address leadership gaps and commit to real action.
Programme Experience
The workshop was delivered through a series of practical discussions and real-world workplace scenarios, ensuring that every concept was immediately relatable to the participants’ daily roles.
Day 1 focused on Building Growth-Ready Leaders. Participants explored the “Leadership Upgrade,” learning how to let go of old habits and step out of their comfort zones. A key highlight was the “Protect the Profit” module, where leaders analyzed how operational small mistakes can escalate into significant costs, reinforcing the need for extreme ownership and accuracy in their work.
Day 2 transitioned into Leading Through Growth, where the focus shifted to influence and authority. Leaders practiced giving clear directions and learning how to lead beyond their specific roles by collaborating with other departments. The session on “Leading Change” provided them with the tools to manage resistance within their teams during transitions. The programme concluded with the drafting of a Personal Growth Plan, where each participant identified their leadership gaps and committed to a specific roadmap for improvement, ensuring the lessons from MBSA were translated into long-term workplace results.
