Statutory Financial Statement Preparation & Audit Readiness (In-house)

Empowering Yamaha Electronics Manufacturing (M) Sdn. Bhd. with Mr. Tony Ho to master MFRS compliance, build audit-ready financial statements, and achieve total accounting independence.

9 – 10 December 2025

Program Overview

The Statutory Financial Statement Preparation & Audit Readiness Workshop was successfully conducted on 15 August 2026 as an exclusive 1-day in-house corporate program for Yamaha Electronics Manufacturing (M) Sdn. Bhd. at the Hotel D’Kelly, Ipoh. Facilitated by the distinguished tax and financial compliance expert Mr. Tony Ho, this intensive masterclass was engineered to close internal capability gaps and transition the company’s finance function into an independent, audit-ready power team.

Under tightening global enforcement of the IESBA Code of Ethics, external auditors are strictly prohibited from providing non-assurance services such as preparing or drafting statutory financial statements due to self-review threats to independence. This regulatory shift places the complete end-to-end responsibility of statutory reporting solely on the internal finance team. Designed specifically for the manufacturing sector, this workshop provided Yamaha’s accounting leaders with technical MFRS/IFRS mastery, rigorous closing discipline, and audit-trail documentation standards to independently produce bulletproof financial statements.

Key Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants were able to:

Programme Experience

Hosted in the professional setting of Hotel D’Kelly in Ipoh, the atmosphere was highly analytical, structured, and strategic. The workshop brought together Finance Managers, Accountants, Assistant Accountants, and Financial Reporting Executives dedicated to fortifying their corporate compliance framework.

Mr. Tony Ho opened the morning session by unpacking The New Independence Landscape & MFRS/IFRS Preparation, detailing why external auditors can no longer assist in draft preparation and how internal roles must adapt. The workshop quickly shifted into practical analysis as participants audited sample draft statements, built year-end closing calendar templates, and established cut-off controls for goods-in-transit and inventory.

The afternoon session escalated into technical problem-solving during the Application of Accounting Standards & Fixed Asset Management modules. Attendees tackled manufacturing case studies applying MFRS 102 to inventory valuation and MFRS 116/136 to plant and equipment impairment. Under Mr. Ho’s precise guidance, the team engaged in hands-on lead schedule tie-outs, mock PBC list reviews, and FAR-to-GL reconciliations. The program concluded with the rollout of internal review protocols, leaving the Yamaha finance team thoroughly equipped, highly self-reliant, and fully prepared for seamless year-end audits.
