Empowering Poji's Tempe Sdn. Bhd. in Tangkak, Johor with Coach Akie to strengthen teamwork, build accountability, improve workplace communication, and cultivate a high-performance team culture.

9 – 10 December 2025

Program Overview

The Winning Together: Building a High Performance Team Culture programme was conducted on 21 September 2026 as an intensive 1-day in-house corporate training programme for Poji Tempe Sdn. Bhd. at the company’s office in Tangkak, Johor. Facilitated by Coach Akie, the programme focused on strengthening teamwork, encouraging individual accountability, improving workplace communication, and cultivating a collaborative, high-performance organisational culture.

In today’s competitive business environment, organisational success depends not only on individual capabilities but also on how effectively employees work together towards shared goals. Challenges such as silo mentality, blame culture, communication gaps, and a lack of personal ownership can weaken collaboration and affect overall team performance. This programme was designed to address these workplace challenges by encouraging employees to shift from an individual-focused “Me” mindset to a collective “We” mindset.

Through structured learning sessions covering team mindset, proactive behaviour, emotional awareness, communication, and team culture, participants explored practical approaches to strengthening cooperation, building mutual trust, and creating a more supportive and accountable workplace.

Key Learning Outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants from Poji Tempe Sdn. Bhd. were equipped to:

Programme Experience

Conducted at Poji Tempe Sdn. Bhd.’s office in Tangkak, Johor, the one-day programme brought workplace teamwork and organisational culture into focus through four interconnected learning modules.

Under the guidance of Coach Akie, the programme followed a structured learning journey, beginning with individual mindset transformation before progressing into personal accountability, effective communication, and the development of a stronger team culture.

Module 1 – From “Me” to “We”: Changing the Team Mindset

The programme began by exploring why teamwork sometimes breaks down within organisations and how individual attitudes can influence collective performance.

Participants examined the impact of silo mentality, self-focused behaviour, and blame culture, particularly how these behaviours can weaken morale, create unnecessary divisions, and affect team effectiveness.

The module emphasised the importance of developing a “One Team, One Goal” mindset, encouraging participants to recognise that organisational success requires cooperation, shared responsibility, and awareness of how individual actions affect the wider team.

Module 2 – Ownership, Accountability & Proactive Behaviour

The second module focused on strengthening personal responsibility and encouraging employees to take greater ownership of their work.
Participants explored the differences between an ownership mindset and a dependency mindset, including the importance of taking initiative rather than waiting to be instructed.

The session also addressed proactive problem-solving, identifying issues early, moving from excuses to solutions, and building trust through accountability and consistent behaviour.

A central message was that high-performing teams are built by individuals who take responsibility not only for their assigned tasks but also for their contribution to shared outcomes.

Module 3 – Strengthening Communication & Empathy at Work

The afternoon session shifted towards workplace communication and interpersonal relationships.
Participants explored different communication styles, active listening, respectful communication, and the role of empathy in strengthening teamwork.
The module also highlighted how misunderstandings, assumptions, and ineffective communication can create unnecessary workplace tension. By understanding different perspectives and practising more constructive communication, employees can approach disagreements professionally without creating a culture of blame.

This segment reinforced the importance of listening to understand, communicating with respect, and maintaining positive working relationships across teams.

Module 4 – Building a High-Performance Team Culture

The final module brought together the day’s learning by focusing on the characteristics and behaviours that contribute to high-performing teams.
Participants explored the importance of support, cooperation, togetherness, aligned goals, and clear expectations in creating a productive working environment.

The module also addressed reinforcing positive behaviours, maintaining team discipline, and encouraging consistency in daily workplace practices.
The programme concluded with a focus on creating action plans for stronger team culture, encouraging participants to translate the day’s learning into practical improvements within their respective roles and teams.

Overall, the programme provided a structured foundation for strengthening workplace relationships, encouraging proactive behaviour, and building a more collaborative and accountable team environment at Poji Tempe Sdn. Bhd.
