7S Best Practices for Warehouse Management & Productivity (in-house)
Mastering the McKinsey 7S framework in SnT Global to align warehouse operations, strengthen SOP discipline, and build a high-performance culture of ownership.
9 – 10 December 2025
Program Overview
The 7S Best Practices for Warehouse Management & Productivity programme was successfully conducted on 14 May 2026 at the client’s own facility in Subang Jaya. Facilitated by the operational expert Mr. Hidzir, this intensive one-day workshop moved beyond traditional logistics training by utilizing the renowned McKinsey 7S Model.
The core mission of the day was to address a common industry challenge: why warehouse improvements often fail to stick. Through the 7S framework, participants explored how Strategy, Structure, Systems, Skills, Staff, Style, and Shared Values must align to create a high-performing warehouse. By holding the session on-site, the team was able to immediately relate the framework to their actual workspace, receiving direct guidance on how to bridge the gap between daily operations and organizational excellence.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Apply the McKinsey 7S Model specifically within a warehouse and logistics context.
- Analyze warehouse layout and flow to identify bottlenecks in the Receiving, Storage, Picking, and Dispatch cycle.
- Strengthen SOP discipline and workflow optimization to eliminate operational waste and movement excess.
- Enhance safety and risk awareness, ensuring PPE compliance and safe stacking practices are integrated into daily habits.
- Cultivate an ownership mindset, where supervisors and staff take collective pride and accountability for warehouse performance.
- Develop a Warehouse Alignment Action Plan to sustain productivity improvements long after the training ends.
Programme Experience
The session in Subang Jaya was characterized by its highly practical and “grounded” approach. Rather than staying in a classroom setting, the atmosphere encouraged participants to look at their own warehouse through a new lens.
The morning began with Module 1: Setting Direction & Flow, where Mr. Hidzir challenged the team to link their daily tasks like accuracy and delivery speed directly to business outcomes. A significant portion of the day was dedicated to Visual Management, where participants discussed the impact of proper labeling and floor markings on reducing “searching time” and errors.
The highlight of the afternoon was the focus on Leadership & Culture. The team engaged in candid discussions about why past improvements may have failed, identifying that “Style” (leadership behavior) and “Shared Values” (culture) are the glue that holds SOPs together. The workshop concluded with a commitment to a new culture of discipline, leaving the warehouse team in Subang Jaya not just with better processes, but with a unified mindset to drive productivity to new heights.
